The general guidelines for paver installation include the following:

  • ALWAYS CALL 811 BEFORE YOU DIG! Contact local utility companies regarding underground cables and pipes prior to excavation
  • Check your local municipality for permit requirements
  • Site excavation of 8-16 inches deep depending on application
  • Compaction of ground
  • Installation of underlayment fabric
  • Application, leveling and compaction of base material
  • Application and leveling of sand setting bed
  • Installation of pavers
  • Cutting pavers as necessary with a diamond blade (cuts are rarely avoidable)
  • Installation of paver restraint on perimeters that are not against permanent structures such as foundations, driveways or sidewalks
  • Tamping of some types of pavers as recommended by EP Henry and Cambridge
  • Optional application of Polymeric joint sand

The general guidelines for wall installation include the following:

  • ALWAYS CALL 811 BEFORE YOU DIG! Contact local utility companies regarding underground cables and pipes prior to excavation
  • Check your local municipality for permit requirements
  • Site excavation of a minimum of 12” inches below grade for trench depending on application
  • Compaction of ground
  • Installation of underlayment fabric
  • Application, leveling and compaction of base material
  • Application and leveling of sand setting bed
  • Installation of base block; technique dependent upon type of wall
  • Utilization of geo-grid dependent upon wall type and height
  • Drainage products when needed
  • Continue installation of wall block utilizing construction adhesive and/or pins, dependent upon type of wall
  • Capping installed with construction adhesive as final layer
  • Back fill behind wall dependent upon type of wall
